Facilitating Consensus Learning
Objectives
Consensus
is not the same as compromise, it may not be synergistic, and it may reduce a decision to
ignorance. What is consensus? There is no real consensus on what constitutes consensus;
however, most authorities agree that consensus can be synergistic when certain rules are
followed.
By the end of this session, you will know:
- How to create a consensus decision frame
- How to distinguish the difference between consensus and compromise
- How to reach a creative alternative to a conflict
- How to facilitate two opposing parties to a solution in which
everyone can support
